Gala Concert 2006
February 11, 2006 saw Dame Kiri at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington for another spectacular UBS sponsored concert to raise funds for the Foundation – bringing a special friend who had been described as one of America’s finest artists and singers.
Legendary mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade joined Dame Kiri, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, conductor James Judd and the NBR New Zealand Opera’s Chapman Tripp Opera Chorus. They were joined by two highly talented young singers invited by Dame Kiri – New Zealand soprano Anna Leese and Korean baritone Seung-Wook Seong.
It was another sell-out concert and these images capture this marvellous event.
