The Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation has been the principle sponsor of the annual NZ Opera School since 2012. In 2014 the Foundation’s support enabled the addition of world-renowned tenor Dennis O'Neill, now professor of vocal tuition at the Cardiff Academy of Voice, to the school’s illustrious teaching staff.  Through a similar Foundation sponsorship arrangement the School was able to secure the services of Håkan Hagagard, one of the world’s finest baritones, to its teaching staff for the 2015 School.
