Award recognizes work with young singers & musicians

Dame Kiri recently became the first Maori woman to receive the Aotearoa New Zealand Maori Business Leader of the Year award for her talent and business acumen over a more than 40-year distinguished international career. 

Wade Kernot completes a great year

2009 was a vintage year for young New Zealand Bass Wade Kernot. Following his graduation from The National Opera Studio in London he was a finalist in the 2009 Lexus Song Quest, a semi-finalist at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition and a quarter-finalist at the Neue Stimmen competition in Germany.He was also invited to attend the Solti Te Kanawa Accademia di Bel Canto in Tuscanny. Wade also performed at the Linari Festival in Tuscany, the Verbier Festival in Switzerland and the Edinburgh Festival's concert performance of Verdi's Macbeth which was recorded by the BBC. 

New trustee appointed

Paul Brewer, currently External Relations Director at The Edge, the performing arts and Conventions Centre in Auckland, recently accepted Dame Kiri’s invitation to become a Foundation trustee.
